It was a feel-good moment for the Smackdown authorities while kicking things off on this week’s show. It was almost certain we would witness these two on the same page after the tag team match has been made official at Wrestlemania 34.
But, then again, we just can’t trust such a warm relationship in the WWE programming. We would not be surprised if a backstabbing is reserved on this Sunday.
A choppy (even a botch) to the beginning of the Charlotte and Natalya match. However it picked up after the commercial break. I’m liking the constant tease of having Carmella cash in her Money in the Bank. Charlotte and Asuka could be match of the night candidate at #WrestleMania

The match between Charlotte and Natalya picked up at the finishing segments.
Once the contest reached the height, Carmella was introduced to the mix that continuously keeps us reminding that this lady still possesses the Money in the Bank briefcase.
Hence, she might try to cash it in when Asuka and Charlotte will have the fight of their lifetime on the biggest stage of them all. The staredown between these two was intense, too.
Not a bad match at all by Rusev and Mahal, I enjoyed that one. Would very much like to see Rusev given the U.S title while he’s red hot with the crowd but I think Roode gets the win. Also, I can’t believe #WrestleMania lands on #RusevDay this year!
— Wrestleview.com (@wrestleview) April 4, 2018
It’s hard to believe the amount of support that Rusev is getting on Smackdown on a weekly basis.
Last night, too, there was no exception as the crowd broke out into ‘Rusev Day’ chants from the get-go.
The match between him and Jinder Mahal turned out to be a good one and so did the intense altercation between Roode and Orton aftermath. The US title fatal-4-way match should be a very good one at ‘Mania.
Absolutely loved that Sami and Kevin segment. Not trying to compare but it had an NWO/Outsiders feel to it. The promo delivery was spot on by both men. One of the better (if not the best) build up match for Wrestlemania.
— Wrestleview.com (@wrestleview) April 4, 2018
We never expected this episode of Smackdown Live without Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.
So, an appearance was the must for them and they did deliver with a fired-up promo which was the best of the night. These two heels have taken their heel antics to a whole new level that’s hard to match up.
There was an intruder taking over kind of feeling in this segment which felt so good.
Great ending to the show. Loved the chemistry between Chad and Nakamura in the ring. Fantastic ending with AJ doing the forearm while looking at Nakamura. Also, the post match only added to the (less than impressive) build up to the WWE title match.
— Wrestleview.com (@wrestleview) April 4, 2018
In the main event of Smackdown, the tag team match was kept short in order to focus on Styles vs. Nakamura rivalry.
After weeks of staying in the back against Nakamura, the WWE Champion came back at the right time just prior to the Wrestlemania 34 event to deliver some of his own statements.
This made a solid build up for the dream bout between these two on this Sunday night.
Overall, not a bad show. Some good wrestling as we head into the biggest show of then year. All the storylines were pushed a little more and the #SDLive matches at #WrestleMania look promising. The little segment involving the tag teams was great.

Check out the Twitter reactions from an overall good show from the Smackdown brand,
The Surfboard is my way of paying homage to my uncle, The British Bulldog. Every time I do it, I think of him. I also love to punish @MsCharlotteWWE … ???☺️ #sdlive pic.twitter.com/adrxUDbESC

Honestly, on Sunday when Daniel Bryan’s music hits, and everyone in the crowd erupts, and he walks out smiling in his ring gear, I’m gonna sit back in my chair, turn up the volume, let the tears flow and just take it in the historic moment I’m witnessing. #SDLive
