WWE Raw kicked off with a decent opening with the General Manager revealing some of the scheduled matches on the New Year night. The creative team went for a tested way to bring on the heat against Jason Jordan by presenting him in an audacious way. The audience might not like him, but that’s the way his character will be gaining momentum, as per the current planning.
The segment featuring Braun Strowman punishing both Heath Slater and Rhyno was a hot favourite for the fans. They might want to see it all night long and would not get bored, even. This proves how much over the monster among men is, right now. Unfortunately, Wrestlemania season is coming our way, and WWE is not going to snatch the title away from Lesnar and give it to Strowman.

Paige was kept off the main show, as expected after getting hurt on a house show, last week. So, Alexa Bliss returned to action after quite a long time on the flagship show. The match fell short at the very beginning but later picked up with offensive moves from both the opponents. Overall, Asuka dominated the contest against the champion which was a predictable thing.
The Intercontinental Championship match was a solid contest on WWE Raw. At this time, Reigns is involved more in the in-ring competition and fewer talks which might be favouring him earning cheers from the crowd. The booking and stipulation of this contest against Joe were a good one alongside the execution. So, the fans chanted ‘this is awesome’, thoroughly.
Pretty good Paul Heyman promo, but the sit up by Lesnar after the Chokeslam from Kane was simply awesome. The brawl after left a little something to be desired, but that visual of Lesnar sitting up will remain and was great. #RAW

While closing the episode of WWE Raw, Paul Heyman delivered a usual promo. But, the confrontation between Kane and the champion was well booked, as well. The iconic sit up made famous by Kane and Undertaker was imitated by the beast which will be trending on Twitter for quite a while. He was chosen to keep the momentum heading into the title match at Royal Rumble.
Overall, a good start to the year for #WWE #RAW that was capped off with a tremendous match between Roman Reigns and Samoa Joe. Go out of your way to check that match out.
