WWE Hall Of Famer Edge hasn’t been seen on WWE programming since WrestleMania 37 Night Two. It finished on a negative note for him as he was unable to win the Universal Championship in the Triple Threat also featuring Daniel Bryan and the reigning champion, Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship in the main event of the pay-per-view.

Edge defeated 29 other superstars to win the 2021 Royal Rumble in order to earn that title match. But as noted, he failed to become the WWE Universal Champion or a twelve-time world champion in his professional wrestling career. Since then, the Rated R Superstar has been absent from WWE television as the fans have been wondering about his status with the company.

There have also been some speculations on whether he had suffered an injury just like he suffered one at Backlash, last year. While speaking on Fightful Select’s Backstage Report podcast, Sean Ross Sapp was asked about Edge’s absence from WWE television and whether it was related to any injuries suffered at WrestleMania 37. It seems that’s not the case as he’s been enjoying a scheduled hiatus.

Edge is currently in a routine time-off from WWE

Being a special attraction on WWE TV after a nine-year-long absence, Edge simply took planned time-off after the Show of Shows. He is expected to show up when another bigger event approached in WWE calendar.

“Planned time off, from what I understand,” the source informed while informing the status of the legendary WWE superstar.

Update On Edge’s Comeback To WWE In 2021 2

As per Edge’s current WWE contract, he is slated to wrestle five times a year. Three of those appearances have already been consumed at Royal Rumble, SmackDown, and at WrestleMania 37. With SummerSlam set to take place in August, it is likely The Ultimate Opportunist will return in time for a program at the second biggest pay-per-view event in WWE programming.

There’s no update on who Edge might feud with once he returns. Considering he won the Royal Rumble who never received his one-on-one title match against Roman Reigns, it makes sense that he might target WWE’s Tribal Chief upon making the comeback. He’s been pretty much vocal about how unfair WWE was in the WrestleMania main event a Triple Threat. So that same campaigning may just continue in the future.
