ToggleGoldberg made several returns on WWE programming to deliver some marque matches over the past several years since his actual comeback in 2016. Some dream matches featuring him against the likes of Brock Lesnar, Bobby Lashley, The Fiend Bray Wyatt, Kevin Owens, and Dolph Ziggler helped WWE to sell out multiple big-time pay-per-view events in the past few years.
In recent times, we haven’t seen Goldberg for almost a year. The last time the former Universal Champion last wrestled in WWE was in a Saudi Arabia event. That most recent appearance came at the 2022 Elimination Chamber premium live event, where he lost to Roman Reigns in a Universal Championship Match via the Guillotine Chokehold submission.

Goldberg contract status still unclear
Since that match reportedly wrapped things up in his WWE contract, it naturally raises the question of whether Goldberg will be coming back in 2023 for some more matches. The current contract situation for the legendary superstar with WWE is reportedly unclear at this point. However, the positive thing is that he previously opened up about his future with the WWE stating that his contract runs through 2023 as well.
Goldberg claims that his in-ring career isn’t over
According to what GiveMeSport offers, the former WCW icon has not retired from in-ring competition, and that he was ready to go if and when WWE needs him,
“My days aren’t done yet. My days may be numbered, but my days are not over with yet,” Goldberg stated. (Quotes courtesy GiveMeSport)
There’s no confirmed update on when the former winning streak-holder will return to WWE programming. But with WrestleMania 39 season in full force, fans can certainly expect it to happen in due course.
It was in 2016 that Goldberg returned to WWE after staying away for twelve long years from the professional wrestling business. On selected occasions, he wrestled multiple matches and also won a couple of Universal Championships. His past accolades alongside the latest resurgence in his career helped him to go into the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2018.
Goldberg had accomplishments since WWE comeback
Goldberg’s first WWE feud was a critically acclaimed as well as a fan-favorite one against Brock Lesnar who was on a dominant streak back then. But The Myth defeated him in just a minute and 26 seconds in his returning match at Survivor Series which turned out to be one of the most shocking moments in WWE history. He quickly followed that up with a Universal Championship win on the Road to WrestleMania 33.
