Going by a recent post on Twitter by Randy Orton’s wife, she might be lucky enough to get RKO-ed by the WWE Legend in their bedroom. But unfortunately, the time for the WWE Universe is yet to arrive when they could expect their beloved star to be back in action and hit that pendant move on his opponents.
It’s been over a year that Randy Orton has been out of action from WWE TV and being one of the cornerstone figures of the business, his absence has been felt. Things have certainly changed on the active roster since he departed and the only good thing is that he is gearing up to be in the mix even if it doesn’t happen at Summerslam 2023.

With summer’s biggest WWE PLE approaching closer, there have been speculations about Randy Orton possibly making a surprise return, this weekend. Sean Sapp has now reported behind Fightful’s paywall that the top superstar “is healing up, but we haven’t heard that he’s heading back just quite yet.” He’s yet to be cleared for a return and there’s still time before he finally starts taking bumps in the ring.

Randy Orton not planned to appear at Summerslam 2023
“As of now, before in-ring training resumes, Orton is planning to make a return to the ring. However, a lower back fusion isn’t typical among pro wrestlers and is uncharted territory for many. Doctors have told Orton that wrestling in the future isn’t a good idea, but he still plans on it. He has resumed lifting, and we’ve told he’s “huge” as a result,” the source further noted.

WWE creative sources also noted that Randy Orton has not been factored into their plans for Summerslam as they’re not sure about his recovery timetable. The 14-time world champion has reportedly resumed weight training, and he’s also in good shape. However, fans were advised to “not count on” a potential Orton return at WWE SummerSlam 2023 that emanates from the Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan, this week.
For the time being, Randy Orton’s final WWE TV appearance will remain in May 2022 when he was written off WWE programming after a vicious storyline assault by Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and The Usos. The legit injury also scrapped Reigns vs. Uso at Summerslam of last year.
