Samoa Joe has been released from the WWE during the recent round of cuts that were unrelated to the COVID-19 budget-cutting process. As reported earlier, it’s not a coincidence that all the firings were handpicked people by Triple H. Joe was one of them who was brought back by The Game soon after his original release that came after Wrestlemania 37.

Many fans hoped to see Samoa Joe return to the ring on NXT, possibly to face Bron Breakker, the new face of the brand but the company had other ideas. WWE made it clear in their statement that none of those firings took place to get rid of any talent. The likes of Joe, Danny Burch, and Timothy Thatcher were all let go since WWE wanted to project the situation in a way where all of those names had nothing to offer when it comes to in-ring activities.

Additionally, Ring of Honor ambassador Cary Silkin spoke with Wrestling Inc. Managing Editor Nick Hausman on The Wrestling Inc. Daily podcast to reveal that he’s also in touch with Samoa Joe following his WWE release,

“I did communicate with Samoa Joe today, just to say, ‘hey man, I am sure you’re going to be fine.’ He was like, ‘yeah, I am going to take a month off and just sort it out,’ and see what his next move is. But there’s a lot of that going on.”
