Veer Mahaan is currently residing on NXT after having a failed stint on Raw during the post-Wrestlemania 38 season. He’s yet to make a proper comeback to action but his inactive status doesn’t affect his popularity among the Indian fanbase. That certainly gets proved in a recent statistic.
The list of the top 5 most viewed WWE videos of 2022 on YouTube is now out (this list doesn’t include views from other platforms) and Veer Mahaan topped the list by a huge margin,
5. Cody Rhodes returns to WWE at WrestleMania 38: 5.8 million
4. Roman Reigns takes out Brock Lesnar at Madison Square Garden on the road to WrestleMania 38: 6.4 million
3. Roman Reigns & Brock Lesnar face-off on SmackDown: 6.5 million
2. Brock Lesnar returns on SmackDown to confront Roman Reigns on the road to SummerSlam: 7.2 million
1. Veer Mahaan’s RAW debut match against Dominik Mysterio: 20.9 million

As you can see, Veer Mahaan scored almost thrice in terms of viewership while comparing the second video. These huge numbers don’t come as a surprise, because WWE has the number-one fanbase in India, at least in terms of viewership. Each week, Raw and SmackDown draw around 50 million viewers on TV and this number is more than any of the countries.

Veer Mahaan being rested for the upcoming WWE India Show
Since Triple H took over Creative in WWE, Veer Mahaan was sent back to NXT to reform Indus Sher with another Indian WWE Superstar Sanga. The group has started a feud with The Creed Brothers on NXT but it’s yet to produce a match on the show. It appears that an injury is prohibiting the same from happening.
WWE India Event In 2022 Will Be “Built All Around” Injured NXT Superstar?
WWE will head to India for a Live Event in January 2023 and Veer Mahaan is likely to be a big part of it. Going by the reports of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the injured superstar is being rested since he will recover in a month’s time and be ready to wrestle in India.
“The reason here is Veer is injured. They’re trying to protect him because Veer and Sanga have to be healthy for that India show that’s built all around them in mid-January, and there’s a lot of money involved. They basically can’t risk him being hurt to miss that show, so they pulled him from this (NXT) show.”
