Mickie James was part of the WWE’s non-PG era where the female talents of the company weren’t judged by their wrestling skills. Back in the day, almost every female wrestler had to be involved in skin-showing or making out with colleagues on a regular basis in the name of entertainment. At the same time, hardcore professional wrestling fans used to love this aspect of wrestling.
Those days are long gone in the WWE with the innovation of Women’s Evolution. Mickie James is also no more part of the company as she was released from the contract for more than two years. She’s currently performing for the Impact Knockouts Division where she got involved with another former WWE talent to recreate an infamous angle with WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus.

During the July 14 episode of Impact Wrestling, Mickie James and her opponent Chelsea Green shared a kiss during their match. As seen in the video below, the two women paid homage to the iconic WrestleMania 22 match between James and Stratus that also began with a kiss. James used to be Trish’s fan at that point while that role was played by Green who planted a kiss on James. The latter one would then plant even a longer smooch on Green.

Mickie James and Chelsea Green were involved in a feud
In the actual match, the two Impact Knockouts didn’t have a physical brawl to the outside. At one point, Green drove James into the big screen but Mickie James bounced back with a stiff right hand to the face. Green then countered the Mick-DT and rolled up the former WWE Women’s Champion using the ropes as leverage to get the victory.
The IWC was not much worried about the match finish but they felt excited to revisit the saga between Trish Stratus and Mickie James in a new way. After the match, the latter cut a promo indicating that she’s time away from wrestling, “You know what they say, you’re only as good as your last match. I’m going home.”
It’s clear that Mickie James was putting over Chelsea Green before going into a hiatus. Over the past few months, these two have been engaged in a feud on Impact TV with their respective husbands, Nick Aldis and Matt Cardona also involved in the scene. The two couples wrestled at the Impact Wrestling Multiverse Of Matches event back in April.
