Vince McMahon is the Boss in WWE where he gets what he wants when he wants. If it comes to not releasing superstars from their active contract, there are past examples where he had been strict than ever. In a recent scenario, he denied to let go Dolph Ziggler off the WWE roster even after his deal came to an end after the big match at Summerslam 2019.

Vince McMahon Stepping Down From His WWE Creative Head Role

Dolph Ziggler returned to the WWE before Super ShowDown event in Saudi Arabia to get himself inserted into the WWE Championship picture. He attacked Kofi Kingston out of nowhere to get a shot at the prime title in the company. The feud continued in the Stomping Grounds PPV event, as well. Ziggler was unsuccessful to capture the title but continued appearing at Extreme Rules and Summerslam.

During this timespan, Dolph Ziggler acted as a jobber to the active roster member digesting a number of losses. The latest of them came against one of the all-time wrestling legends, Goldberg. The former WCW franchise player squashed him with several spears and jackhammers in a night which could have his last for the victim. But it did not go by that way since Vince McMahon was not willing.

According to Bodyslam.net, Vince McMahon and Dolph Ziggler had a deal where the latter one would return and work PPVs till Summerslam 2019. The Monday Night Raw after Summerslam should have been his final date according to the deal. But The Boss still is not willing to let go of the former world champion from the existing contract but rather he wants to extend it.

So it won’t be surprising that we will see the show-off continuing his annoying promos on upcoming shows and thereby jobbing to other superstars. The source added that Vince McMahon is refusing to release Dolph Ziggler from his contract and is open to just paying him the contracted money while he sits at home:

“On Monday prior to RAW, Dolph approached Vince McMahon to thank him, however, it was then that Vince told Dolph that he could not let him out of his deal and that he would ‘rather just pay him to stay home’.”

A big reason behind this could be that The Boss wants the veteran superstar around for upcoming fall where Smackdown moves to FOX. Plus, he could be a must-see for the next Saudi Arabia PPV which may happen in October. His current deal reportedly allows him to appear on global shows hosted in the middle-east country.
