Vince McMahon has led the WWE for several decades since he is the father of this rebranded company cum sports entertainment. But with his growing age and the birth of XFL may not let him focus into the creative aspects of the company, anymore. WWE has been larger than ever in recent times with several separate divisions which make the job even tougher, nowadays.

As per the recent updates, there is a tentative plan that Vince McMahon will no longer be in charge of the ongoing storylines. This won’t be a forever kind of thing as WWE sees it as a short-time hiatus. But this could be pretty significant since this would be the first time that he will be away from looking after the shows produced by his own company.

Brad Shepard reported on Oh, You Didn’t Know Podcast that Vince McMahon said something very interesting during his recent XFL meetings. He noted on going away from WWE for a short period of time that will depend on how good the company’s transition into new television deals goes. It’ll be an interesting time where Smackdown Live and NXT moves into FOX Sports and USA Network, respectively in this October.

As per the below comments from Shepard, Vince McMahon has already informed his XFL partners that he is taking a hiatus from WWE for a short timespan. If he sees the programming is going okay then he will continue focussing on the dream football league he will be launching in 2020. Here’s what the source had exactly stated, (courtesy ringsidenews.com)

“I reported on Monday that Vince McMahon wasn’t at Raw because he was in an all-day meeting on Monday and had one Tuesday as well. According to a source in WWE, I am told Vince McMahon told his XFL circle that he’ll step away from WWE for a very short period of time depending on how the Fox and NXT moves go.”

“If all three shows are steady by the time the XFL launches he will indeed focus on the league.”

WWE already has backup plans to run the shows in his hiatus as they brought new show-runners in recent times. Vince McMahon has previously stated that he hired Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff as Executive Directors for this reason. If he sees both these men are running things well on USA Network and FOX Sports then he will be indeed on long time-off from the WWE. With The Boss not being involved in the scene, it should be a very interesting time as Raw and Smackdown will be in new hands, completely.
