Things have not been so great for Vince McMahon, as of late. WWE, as a company, pulling off tons of profits but the boss himself has been removed from his head position following recent hush-money allegations. Wall Street Journal revealed the former WWE CEO and Chairman allegedly paid $12 million combined to keep various affairs and accusations of sexual misconduct a secret.
This news was swindling across the rumor mill around this past edition of Smackdown. So there were doubts about whether Vince McMahon will be at the venue of the show, Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. Being the head of the creative team, he was there and in full force to take care of things on live TV. Also, he was apparently set to meet a top superstar.
Brock Lesnar Coming Back To WWE Doesn’t Have Anything To Do With Vince McMahon Allegations
According to a report by Fightful Select, Vince McMahon was scheduled to fly to Vancouver after the conclusion of SmackDown in Texas. The source didn’t necessarily specify the reason for the flying but sources told them it was likely related to meeting a top WWE star, possibly John Cena.
John Cena could be related to Vince McMahon’s Vancouver visit
Cena’s name was speculated since he is currently in Vancouver in preparation for the second season of the HBO Max series Peacemaker. In more update, it was stated that the next season of Peacemaker is not supposed to go into the floors for quite a while and this could have affected the travel plans for Vince McMahon.
Nothing was noted regarding whether Cena will be inserted into WWE’s Summerslam plans in the next few weeks or whether the former WWE Chairman had to do anything about it with his visit.
Peacemaker is based on the DC Comics character of the same name which first appeared in the film The Suicide Squad. After the success of the first season of the spin-off series, it was initially renewed for a second season in February. Now, filming is expected to begin with Cena staying in Vancouver for the next several months. This is also the reason why he may not get involved with WWE SummerSlam in late July.
As for Vince McMahon, he continues to make TV appearances since stepping back from his CEO position. It started on June 17 at the Target Center in Minneapolis where he came out to say the WWE tag line, “Then, Now, Forever and Together” while the next week on Raw, he came out to plug in John Cena’s return for his 20th-anniversary celebration.
