WWE Chairman Vince McMahon will now be in charge of the WWE NXT brand alongside Senior Vice President & Executive Director Bruce Prichard from now onward. This may appear as nightmare news for the hardcore NXT base as Triple H will no more be overseeing the happenings over on the Tuesday night brand. The change appears to be a direct change for losing the Wednesday Night War to AEW Dynamite.

Previous reports already claimed that WWE NXT will return to airing live weekly shows on the USA Network beginning with the September 14 episode. This episode will feature the wedding of Dexter Lumis and Indi Hartwell which will also mark a reset for the brand, with a new logo, new theme song, and a new look for the weekly show.

Furthermore, Dave Meltzer added in that report stating McMahon and Prichard will be behind the big decisions on Tuesday nights but not the smaller ones. They will also be responsible for the marketing, promotion, and direction of the WWE NXT brand. Regarding the creative perspective, it was noted that McMahon and Prichard might only book the top talents of the brand.

Word is already out that NXT will be like “the old NXT” just like it used to be in 2015-18. This is the timespan when the brand was considered to be at its peak. Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men podcast added that McMahon has always been hands-on with the WWE NXT brand, anyways. Hence, he will continue with that role, moving forward.

No confirmation is available on how things will change for Triple H and his team, which includes WWE Hall of Famers Shawn Michaels and “Road Dogg” Brian James but they won’t be able to take the biggest decisions, anymore.
