WWE Total Divas always received mixed reactions from the fanbase. While some thought that it was dragging back the women’s division of the WWE, many genuinely thought that it was giving them the exposure they needed at that point. Due to WWE content airing on mainstream television, more eyes were attracted to women’s wrestling.
As much as it sounds surreal, WWE Total Divas did inspire a name from the current roster to enter the wrestling scene. That name is Maxxine Dupri who is comparatively new to in-ring action. Recently, she has reflected on the journey that brought her to WWE while appearing in a recent episode of WWE’s After The Bell podcast hosted by Raw commentator Corey Graves.

Dupri disclosed that it was WWE Total Divas that she used to follow a lot with her family members. It ultimately led her to pursue professional wrestling as her career,
“I loved ‘Total Divas,’ I was obsessed with ‘Total Divas.’ My grandpa is a huge fan. He used to take my dad to WWE shows. He watches every week, so I’m officially the favorite grandchild, which is pretty exciting. My boyfriend is a huge WWE fan, so through COVID, that was really all that was on in our house. If he was playing a video game it was always WWE 2K and I’m like, ‘Wait, this is Total Divas! Let’s bring it back.'”

Top WWE Total Divas starcast member cited as Maxxine Dupri’s dream opponent
While revisiting WWE Total Divas days, Maxxine Durpri also noted that WWE Hall of Famers The Bella Twins were her favorites from the show as they were the cornerstone figures. Dupri has already named Nikki Bella as her dream opponent but that match is probably not going to happen in the WWE given that Bellas had left the company to become The Garcia Twins.
Back in March, the pillar figures of WWE Total Divas announced their departure as they wanted to enjoy times in their personal life. They’ve already established an identity outside the wrestling world. The two former Bella Twins were the first duo to venture into the world of reality television who then started their own clothing line and wine brand. Besides, they also possess their own podcast.
Dupri and The Bellas also have similarities when it comes to stunning red carpet looks and it’s pretty hypothetic that they would be perfect for WWE Total Divas and as in-ring opponents. Willing to follow in The Bellas’ footsteps, Dupri contacted her modeling agency to ask if they knew anyone in WWE. After multiple tryout submissions, she participated in the 2021 SummerSlam event in Las Vegas and got selected in the procedure to start her WWE career on NXT as a valet.
