Brie Bella alongside her twin sister Nikki Bella are two bonafide WWE Hall of Famers who are best known for their time in the WWE. They’ve separately become multiple-time Divas Champions while being active in-ring competitors in the WWE but that’s not all as they’ve worked tirelessly to elevate the status of the women superstars in the company that in turn started the women’s evolution.
Currently, Brie Bella is signed to WWE in a Legends contract as an ambassador. Primarily, she and her twin sister, Nikki Bella, were signed to WWE in 2007 on SmackDown, beginning their in-ring career that year as The Bella Twins. That first brought forward the first twin in the company’s history with unique attributes that were never seen in the WWE.
Over the years, the two pulled off a success like no one else had achieved in the then WWE Divas Division to go on to become WWE Hall of Famers. Down the road, they also garnered heat over the attention that they received but it wasn’t due to their in-ring stint. Nikki and Brie Bella were the center of attraction of the first-ever WWE reality TV series named Total Divas to bring negativity around themselves.

Brie Bella discussed earlier days of Total Divas
Despite the initial success of the show, some unnecessary drama was caused backstage in WWE. The Superstars who starred in the first season of Total Divas were targeted unnecessarily as they suddenly received mainstream fame as well as earned a huge chunk of money.
Brie Bella admitted in a recent conversation in The Bellas Podcast that she indeed received “a lot of heat” from her colleagues in the locker room. The original cast members Natalya, JoJo, Ariane, Brie, and Nikki Bella recalled getting unnecessary heat backstage due to their early stint in Total Divas.
“The heat was for real. I’ll never forget when it aired, and we were pretty much neck-to-neck with the Kardashians, we became this instant hit, and I was so grateful for all of you [original cast members] for putting your lives out there, for dealing with the backstage drama of everyone hating on all of us for filming,” Brie Bella continued.
“Also, when it aired, we knew we were going to be everyone’s punching bag — with people either loving or hating it. Through the whole drama, we all had smiles on our faces, and kept filming, making amazing television — breaking barriers for women’s wrestling, globally, and opening doors for women in wrestling.”
“And all that for not a lot of money. I always tell everyone that I’m so grateful for all the women of Total Divas because we put up with so much, and still made amazing TV.”
Total Divas were compared to the reality show of The Kardashians
The season premiere of Total Divas featuring Nikki and Brie Bella drew 1.34 million viewers on the E Network in July 2013. The show ended up getting compared to the hit reality series Keeping Up With The Kardashians. The Bella Twins also took the first step to becoming famous in the TV industry.
