John Cena is back in the WWE and he’s heading to Summerslam 2021 in a big way. For the first time since 2015, the franchise player is headlining the show and this happens to be against his successor in the company. As seen on Smackdown, the Universal Champion Roman Reigns will put his title on the line with perhaps the greatest main-eventer in the history of WWE.
On his way to Summerslam 2021, John Cena is working seamlessly on TV tapings and WWE house shows. And for that, the WWE locker room is extremely thankful. The recent WWE house shows have been headlined by six-man tag team matches between The Bloodline (The team of Universal Champion Roman Reigns and SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos) vs. Rey and Dominik Mysterios alongside the Cenation Leader.
Update On Plans For Karrion Kross And Scarlett On WWE Raw
Rey Mysterio has stated the significance of John Cena performing in the non-televised WWE house shows on a regular basis during his current run. The WWE locker room is “thankful” to Cena for working house shows, in a time where Hollywood megastars of Cena’s magnitude could only typically wrestle on PPVs or TV tapings.
“With John, he just happened to have a break right now, and he’s back,” Rey Mysterio told DAZN about John Cena. “Now he’s not only doing TVs, but he’s wanting to do house shows as well. So that just tells me the type of character he has, the type of person he is. He’s willing to drive and do the supershows that we’re kicking off that we had last weekend and now this upcoming weekend.”

John Cena is helping increase WWE backstage morale
The Master of 619 continued saying that these appearances by the sixteen-time world champion in house shows are good for morale when it comes to younger superstars’ learning process. Dominik could learn a lot from the bonafide WWE Superstar as he continues to team up with the GOAT on a regular basis, for now.
The good thing is that John Cena isn’t set for one last run but rather he will continue to make time from his busy schedule to enter the WWE picture,
“It’s not only good for morale, but the fans are entertained and are buying tickets to go see Cena, my son, and myself. So we get the rub off of John. He made his name in this wrestling world, and now he’s jumped over to Hollywood. But he’s coming back and forth.
“This might not be the last time we’re going to see him. I think we are going to see him more. But he’s making the time, and I think we’re all thankful from the WWE locker rooms that he’s taking the time to come back and put in the work that once made him famous.”
The Mysterios are expected to challenge The Usos for the tag team titles at the upcoming SummerSlam pay-per-view while John Cena has already been booked. Initially, Cena was expected to leave, right after the PPV event but now it appears that he will also perform after the PPV. This should be the reason why WWE is advertising him for Super Smackdown at the Madison Square Garden in September.
