What to Expect From This Week’s WWE Smackdown Live: May 15, 2018

For the second consecutive night, WWE will host a show from the UK. After last week’s huge fall in the TV ratings, we expect Smackdown to come up with a packed edition. Already a series of announcements have been made to hype up this edition. A qualifier MITB match will be held between two of the old rivals. Plus, Styles vs. Nakamura will battle it out, one more time to settle their differences.

The women’s Champion will be returning to the show throwing a grand celebration. Furthermore, a debut will take place on the show that was much-anticipated. We can’t wait what he brings to the table. Smackdown Live will be hosted by the O2 Arena in London, England.

Starting from the WWE Championship picture, the feud between AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura is definitely not over. As per the rumor mill from cagesideseats.com, a huge Last Man Standing match is coming up between them. It is likely that we get to know it officially on the show from London. This match is going to be the main event of the night.

Just like on WWE Raw, there will be a couple of qualifying matches for the MITB ladder match. It was last week when The Miz and Rusev advanced to the opportunistic match from Smackdown, last week. There should a string of matches to add to the list from the blue brand.

We already know that The Bar and The New Day will compete in a match for the same opportunity. The latter team is the favorite to win this contest with any one member of the group getting the chance to compete at MITB.

From the women’s division, Charlotte Flair is the only name who has qualified for the MITB ladder match. Tonight, she is expected to be out of action due to a dental surgery that happened a couple of days ago. To make up her absence, Smackdown women’s champion will return.

As promised, last week, Carmella will be throwing a royal celebration on Smackdown. She calls it the ‘Mellabration’, as announced, last week. Chances are high that we will see a new number one contender for her championship which might turn out to be Asuka. The former NXT women’s champion is also expected to be back on the scene.

The duo of Andrade Cien Almas and Zelina Vega will make their presence felt on Smackdown, for the first time ever.

WWE.com has hyped up their appearance,

“The Mexican grappler was a standout in NXT, where he captured the NXT Championship and took part in several thrilling contests. After joining Team Blue in the Superstar Shake-up, Almas is out to show that he can hang with SmackDown LIVE’s elite.”

The chances are high that he targets the US Champion, Jeff Hardy to get inserted straight into the title picture. At present, there’s no contender available for the prestigious title.
