Sasha Banks and Naomi were gone from the WWE for good if it was not for the recent major shuffles in the creative team. Ever since Vince McMahon announced his retirement and a new regime was applied, things have changed in a positive manner both off and on-screen.
Headed by co-WWE CEOs Stephanie McMahon & Nick Khan and the head of the WWE Creative Team Triple H the old principles put together by Vince McMahon are being vanquished. These have already dragged a few previously released superstars of WWE NXT. Now, fans have been speculating whether this would lead to the return of Naomi and Sasha Banks to the promotion.

Recent reports already suggested that a return for the former tag team champions is closer than ever. In an appearance on Sunday Night’s Main Event, Dave Meltzer revealed the latest situation he heard around Sasha Banks and Naomi coming back to WWE. It appeared that it was a week ago that the duo agreed to return to the previous workplace.

“Last week, which is the last I checked, the contract hadn’t been signed but they were all expecting that it was happening. They were all on the same page. I was basically told it’s as good as done but they haven’t signed so it could fall through.
They may have already signed by now but a week ago, [I was told] they’re back. It could be tomorrow, it could be in a couple of weeks. It’s whatever day they want. They are probably pacing things. You don’t want to show all your cards in week 1 (after Triple H taking over).
You want to have something big to talk about every week for the next couple of weeks. An agreement in principle was reached over a week ago.”
Last Monday heading into WWE Raw August 1 episode, Last Monday, Wrestlingnews.co first reported that Sasha Banks and Naomi have agreed to return to WWE because their primary issue was with Vince McMahon’s creative ideas. Now that he’s gone, the top female superstars don’t have any problems working under Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.
In fact, an imminent return was expected on last week’s Raw or Smackdown but that didn’t happen. Speaking of Sasha Banks and Naomi, the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles are still in a vacated condition since they’re gone. As of now, WWE has kicked off a tournament to crown the new champions, starting from this week’s Raw.
