As reported earlier, AJ Styles picked up a big injury working in the men’s Royal Rumble match on this past Sunday night. He was hit by the Spear-fest from the returning Edge that led the match to a big success. One of those beauties from the Rated R Superstar hit him badly as he landed awkwardly on his shoulder to pick up the injury.
‘The Phenomenal One’ wanted to sell the spear from Edge in a big way and flipped to land on his arm, doing an inside out spot. Just after the landing, his body felt something wrong as the shoulder seemed dangling down from his body.

AJ Styles Hints His WWE Career Will Be Coming To An End, Soon
As reported by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AJ Styles may have suffered a ruptured shoulder doing that Rumble spot. During a Mixer stream, he confirmed that story saying that he is dealing with a separated shoulder. The good thing is that the veteran superstar is not missing WrestleMania 36. He will ‘scratch and claw’ his way down to the biggest event of the year which takes place on April 5th, 2020.

AJ Styles also talked about trying to over-sell the spear and getting injured in the process. He blamed nobody but himself for the mishap,
“If there’s any blame put on anybody about what I’m dealing with my shoulder, it’s me. One hundred percent me. I was over-brothered, as they say, and I just went crazy with my bump there. The only problem with flipping over that way I did [is] the first thing to hit was my left shoulder. And I thought I had dislocated my shoulder and they wanted to get me out of there right away.” (courtesy uproxx.com)
The insider belief among the WWE officials is that the injury of AJ Styles is not that fatal and he will be available for WrestleMania 36. Previously, a match with Randy Orton was speculated due to their ongoing program on Monday Night Raw. But Orton has now been booked in a feud with Edge. So, AJ Styles will have a new opponent for the showcase of immortals upon his return.
