Will Roman Reigns beat Brock Lesnar for Universal Championship at Summerslam? 1

Summerslam 2018 main event might have created a headache for some of the fans. Brock Lesnar will face Roman Reigns for the third time in this year. It’s needless to say that most of the WWE Universe does not want to see this repetitive matchup. But Vince McMahon felt this would be the best option for the biggest event of the summer.

Brock Lesnar not only dominated the rivalry for the most part, but he also became a record-setting champion. He has held the Universal title for more than 500 days now. We should also remind you that one year ago Summerslam witnessed Lesnar pinning Roman Reigns clean. He bulldozed his way into this not-so-impressive yet effective title reign.

The question remains whether Roman Reigns can turn the tables this time around? Most of the sources do suggest he will be successful to reach the top dethroning the beast incarnate. But there should be a twist at the end of Summerslam retaining the tradition of the show.

Cagesdeseats.com came up with an update for the Summerslam Universal Championship match. It depends on the reaction of the crowd of the venue, as per the source,

“The expectation right now is that Roman Reigns is winning the Universal title from Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam, but there is apparently concern over how the match will be received in Brooklyn, considering recent crowds.”

We should remind you that Vince McMahon did not let Roman Reigns win the title at Wrestlemania owing to this reason only. The audience at the Superdome was not in favour of the Big Dog. So the Boss changed the outcome of the match while it was in progress. It would also be the deciding factor for Summerslam too.

It would not make the fans happy if Roman Reigns gets the clean pinfall win over Brock Lesnar. They would start booing him instantly like previous occasions. So Braun Strowman cashing in the MITB contract can save this disastrous fallout. In that case, the monster will have to turn into a heel. Upcoming house show booking between Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman indicates it might be on the card.

There’s also a chance of Kevin Owens winning the MITB briefcase from Strowman. He would cash it in on Roman Reigns to screw him at the last point. It would be another policy for the officials to generate sympathy for the Big Dog. To some extent, this plan could be successful, as a program between Reigns vs Owens looks good. We would see how things unfold when Summerslam finally arrives.
