Roman Reigns has been the show-runner in the WWE since returning to the company with a new gimmick in August 2020. Just one week after returning to the company at SummerSlam of that year, he captured the WWE Universal Championship and since then he’s yet to drop that belt. In an incredible stat, he’s entering the third consecutive Wrestlemania with the same titles.
Since that return, Roman Reigns mostly has been a weekly fixture on the ThunderDome-era of WWE programming and then in the post-pandemic era. But things changed for him in late 2022 as he started working on a reduced schedule. Even though he no longer appears on every episode of WWE SmackDown, he remains a marquee name on WWE’s monthly premium live events.

As per the current listing on WWE’s official website, Roman Reigns is not currently advertised for July’s WWE Money in the Bank. Currently, the featured WWE superstars include Charlotte Flair, Cody Rhodes, Bianca Belair, Drew McIntyre, Seth Rollins, and Becky Lynch. Interestingly, the dual champion isn’t there on the poster released for the international event.

Paul Heyman fueled up rumors of Roman Reigns’ hiatus from WWE
This genuinely hints at the fact that Roman Reigns might take a time off from his WWE schedule following Wrestlemania 39. Addressing those rumors, his Special Counsel Paul Heyman made some comments during his recent appearance on the SI Media Podcast. He stated if his Tribal Chief does go into a hiatus, he’ll have to find another job,
“I mean, we’re talking a lot of hypotheticals here. I’m firmly embedded in the portrayal of the Special Counsel and the Wise Man to ‘The Tribal Chief’ Roman Reigns.
I’m sure there are things that I can do in free time should there ever be a time that we take some time off. Thank you for your confidence in my ability to under promise and over deliver on that.” (quotes courtesy WWFOldSchool)
Roman Reigns previously missed a couple of WWE’s B-level premium live events in the past, such as June’s Hell in a Cell, October’s WWE Extreme Rules, and even last summer’s WWE Money in the Bank in July. This absence was one of the reasons why the event was moved from Allegiant Stadium to the much smaller MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
