For weeks now, the women wrestlers are battling over a win at the AEW Owen Hart Tournament 2023 edition. Following this week’s Rampage edition, the two names who will finally compete in the final match of the tourney have been revealed.
On the July 14 Episode of Rampage, the former NJPW Strong Women’s Champion Willow Nightingale advanced to the finals of the AEW Owen Hart Tournament 2023 edition by defeating Ring of Honor Women’s World Champion Athena. This match was originally set to take place last week but it was rescheduled due to an injury Nightingale picked up. The injury reportedly occurred during Nightingale’s title match loss at a Stardom show.

Now, Willow Nightingale will be facing Ruby Soho of The Outcasts, tonight on AEW Collision in the AEW Owen Hart Tournament 2023 final. This past Wednesday night on Dynamite, Soho defeated Skye Blue via clean pinfall to secure her spot at the finale match which also makes her the only female star to have entered the finale of this particular tourney on two consecutive occasions. Last year, Soho was defeated by the eventual winner of the inaugural edition, Dr. Britt Baker.
As for Nightingale, she might have lost the NJPW Strong Women’s Title but more championship shots could be waiting for her. If she wins the AEW Owen Hart Tournament 2023 then a guaranteed opportunity will be there for her at the AEW Women’s World Champion. Plus, previously, Athena teased a shot at her ROH Women’s Championship if Nightingale could defeat her. Now that it happened a rematch between Athena and Nightingale should be happening over the ROH Women’s Title.

AEW Owen Hart Tournament 2023 Men’s Division Final also set for Collision
The final match of the AEW Owen Hart Tournament 2023 from the men’s division will also be taking place, this Saturday night on Collision. The men’s final will see CM Punk facing off with the “Absolute” Ricky Starks. While Punk defeated the ROH World Television Champion Samoa, Joe, Starks defeated Powerhouse Hobbs en route to the final match.
Since his comeback to AEW, last month during the premiere episode of AEW Collision, CM Punk is gunning to be back in the AEW World Heavyweight Title picture and now it might be time for him to officially enter the title picture by winning the AEW Owen Hart Tournament 2023.
