Willow Nightingale has become the winner of the AEW Owen Hart Tournament 2023 winner from the women’s division. After Dr. Britt Baker clinched the victory in the inaugural edition, the former NJPW Strong Women’s Champion secured the win in the second edition and thereby left Ruby Soho in despair for the second consecutive year.

As seen in this week’s episode of AEW Collision, Ruby Soho was defeated by Willow Nightingale in the women’s AEW Owen Hart Tournament 2023. As noted above, Soho has now lost in two consecutive finale matches at the Owen Hart Cup finale match for the second year. Last year, the loss came at the hands of Dr. Britt Baker at the Double or Nothing PPV event.

Meanwhile, Nightingale continues to pick up momentums in her favor for the past few weeks. The victory over Soho came just a few hours after the victory over Ring of Honor Women’s Champion Athena on AEW Rampage, this past Friday night. That win earned Nightingale her spot in the finals of the AEW Owen Hart Tournament 2023 in first place.

Before the victory, Athena also promised her a title shot if she would digest a loss. Now that it has become a reality, Nightingale may receive a shot at Athena’s ROH Women’s Championship, down the line. Plus, last night’s win at Collision may also allow her to go after an AEW Women’s World Championship shot from Toni Storm.

Just after the men’s and women’s AEW Owen Hart Tournament 2023 winners were crowned on Collision, Toni Storm retained the AEW Women’s World Championship against Taya Valkyrie in a singles contest in the AEW Battle of the Belts 7 special. After she failed in securing a win, Ruby Soho came out to distract Taya which allowed Storm to secure the pinfall win in what marked her third overall successful title defense.

Also on Collision, the men’s AEW Owen Hart Tournament 2023 winner was crowned and CM Punk was defeated by the “Absolute” Ricky Starks. Last week, Punk earned his way into the final match by defeating Samoa Joe in the much-anticipated matchup in the semifinal but ultimately, he failed to get the big W.
