The popular belief is that the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship holders are cursed which doesn’t allow this division to be in a steady mode. Given how things are happening around these titles since the Wrestlemania season that myth has turned out to be true, time and time again. Whichever pair WWE had their faith on, the partnership had to be broken due to injury or creative reasons.

Earlier this month, Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville had the opportunity to pick up the Women’s Tag Team Titles and WWE reportedly had big plans with them. Within two weeks, it was then reported that Deville had suffered a torn ACL which appears to be her first major injury during her time with WWE.

Deville has since undergone surgery and given the type of injury that she’s dealing with, she’s expected to be out of action for the rest of this year. This injury came at a worse time as WWE wanted to showcase its first openly gay female Superstar, as a bright Women’s Tag Team Champion alongside Green who also tasted the gold for the very first time in her WWE career.

WWE to involve all brands for new Women’s Tag Team Champions

Following the injury, it’s certain that WWE needs to find out a backup plan to crown new women’s tag team champions. BWE tweeted out to his followers to let them know about the backstage situation regarding the Women’s Tag Team Title. One fan tweeted out to the proven WWE insider to say, “What’s the update on the w tag titles?”

In response, that fan learned that WWE is considering all options at this point, and that include discussions around all the brands. Involving talents from all three brand are being discussed as well to be in the championship hunt while more options could also be available for talent,

“Being discussed to have on set for all brands. Gives more options for talent to grow n NXT in general.”

There was hope that Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville might elevate those titles as they were more than excited to win their first gold on the WWE roster but now Deville’s injury stopped all hopes. WWE has a lot of options right now with the women’s tag team championships and even Chelsea Green is also accepting auditions on her own for her new partner.
