4. Carmella cashes in on Charlotte Flair on post-Wrestlemania 34 Smackdown
Carmella is the inaugural women’s Money in the Bank winner and she’s also the only women’s superstar who waited more than 24 hours to cash in her contract. After winning the match in June 2017, the Princess of Staten Island waited till the post-Wrestlemania 34 episode of Smackdown which created a perfect opportunity for a cash-in.
Then-SmackDown Women’s champion Charlotte Flair was attacked by the debutants, The IIconics after which Mella ran in to receive her contractually obligated title matches in which she picked up the win via a superkick on Flair. This was the only time that Mella had the opportunity to pick up a singles title. The win didn’t help her in the long run but being the first-time women’s division Money in the Bank cash-in, it will remain a special moment in WWE history.
