Randy Orton is still going strong in the WWE despite spending more than two decades in the company. Starting his career all the way back in 2002, he’s one of the top-most superstars of the WWE roster whom the officials want to be in the spotlight, all the time. The Raw-branded name missed the opportunity to win the Royal Rumble match from his hometown of St. Louis but he may still find a way to the main event.
At this point, Bobby Lashley is the reigning WWE Champion who’s sitting at the top of the food chain after pinning Brock Lesnar for the title at Royal Rumble 2022. Given that he’s a heel name and Randy Orton is a top babyface, a clash seems justified from a storyline perspective and who knows whether it’s being planned to happen at The Biggest Stage of Them All.

Since the day Randy Orton and Riddle were put together, fans couldn’t help but think about an eventual split. Their popularity was the only reason that WWE’s creative team wanted to hold back the explosion between the two. Now that they have lost the tag team titles, it appears that splits-ville could be their next destination.

But WrestleVotes reports that WWE Officials aren’t keen on splitting them up, at least not until Wrestlemania 38 season passes by,
“WWE had plans since the pairing began last spring for Riddle vs Randy Orton @ SummerSlam, which didn’t happen. Plan was to hold off til Mania. I’m told now only a handful of creative members want to spilt them, w/ the idea that if the match happens, it should be for the WWE title.”

In a follow-up update, GiveMeSport indicated that the pair of Riddle and Randy Orton could end up being in the WWE Title picture for Wrestlemania. This also explains why both these superstars were nurtured as potential Rumble match winners, at one point.
Randy Orton is a tested name when it comes to headlining Wrestlemanias in the past. Riddle accompanying him would make him a more marketable player in the big league where The Original Bro can also solidify his name in prime title matches.
