WrestleMania 39 is just barely a few weeks away and the card is being shaped up to be a blockbuster one over two separate nights. Over on weekly Raw or Smackdown programming, new matches are constantly being confirmed. One of the expected blockbusters for the spectacle was expected to go down between two former WWE Champions.
Bray Wyatt had his sights set on the winner of Brock Lesnar vs. Bobby Lashley at Wrestlemania 39. Since Lashley emerged as the winner as a result of a DQ at Elimination Chamber, the storyline around the fresh match has begun on TV. However, if reports are to be believed then this match is off the card due to an absence.
Wrestlemania 39: WWE Canceled Introduction Of New World Championship Belt
Bray Wyatt was scheduled to face LA Knight at last night’s WWE Live Event at Madison Square Garden, but he didn’t appear there. This was only an addition to his recent absence from WWE shows for the buildup of his match against Bobby Lashley. According to The Wrestling Blog, Wyatt might miss WrestleMania 39 due to personal reasons.
Wyatt vs. Lashley angle at Wrestlemania 39 is seemingly weak
The source added that the backstage feeling is that Wyatt vs. Lashley is a match that they shouldn’t move forward with at Wrestlemania 39 as the fans would least care about it. So, the matchup could eventually be dropped, altogether. Here’s more from what the source had to offer,
“Bray Wyatt was supposed to have segments in the ring this past 2 SmackDowns, they where scrapped. He was supposed to have matches on Live Events this past week and previous week, he was not there. I was informed he is not injured at the moment. It is unknown as of right now why he’s absent.”
“I received information that one specific wrestler might potentially miss WrestleMania 39. This is not because of problems with the company, it is because of other things not related to injury.”
If this is the case then the potential reunion between Bray Wyatt and Alexa Bliss will also get postponed. The latter is out of WWE TV since Royal Rumble 2023 since having a confrontation with Uncle Howdy.
Now, reports from Dave Meltzer from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter already noted that the former Raw Women’s Champion is on a break for a while. While no reason for her absence was shared, it was noted that the top superstar could also end up missing Wrestlemania 39 which will be a two-in-row absence for her.
