ToggleWith Wrestlemania 39 inching closer, it’s safe to say that Brock Lesnar will feature in the card in a prominent way. Being one of the top-most attractions of the WWE roster, it’s certain that WWE always wants to keep him as the marquee attraction. That being said, WWE should have some solid plans for him heading into the biggest event of the year but that’s not the case, this year.
For weeks now, speculations have been running rampant over Brock Lesnar’s Wrestlemania 39 opponent. The fourth match between Lesnar and Bobby Lashley was rumored after the lame finish of their third match at Elimination Chamber while many believed that Gunther could also be facing The Beast. This came after the two confronted each other at Royal Rumble 2023.
Brock Lesnar put into a fresh storyline on Raw
While WWE did nurture those options, they’ve recently scrapped all of those to come up with a fresh idea for the former Universal Champion which has already been executed on Monday Night Raw. In the latest reports from Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer shared some details about the recent rumblings about Wrestlemania 39.
Meltzer wrote that WWE wasn’t initially capitalizing on a match between Gunther and Brock as many expected at the Show of Shows. The original plan for him was also changed just recently,
“The only thing we know is that whatever the Lesnar plan was, and it wasn’t Gunther, that is that it changed in the last week or two.”
During the February 20 episode of Monday Night Raw, MVP challenged Brock Lesnar to a match against Omos at WrestleMania 39. The manager of the seven-footer Omos had also asked the 10-time former world champion to show up on Raw, next week to respond to the challenge.
Lesnar expected on Raw to accept Wrestlemania 39 challenge
While nothing is confirmed, The Conqueror is actually expected to show up on the red brand how, this Monday night to comment on his match and appearance at Wrestlemania 39. It could just be a swerve as WWE could ultimately plan something different for the top superstar but seeing him going up against the Nigerian Giant could also be a treat for the fans.
Brock Lesnar was last seen in action at the 2023 WWE Elimination Chamber where he was defeated by Bobby Lashley via DQ after Lersnar went below the belt to get rid of the Hurt Lock submission.
