Wrestlemania 39 match card will gradually be set up following the Royal Rumble premium live event. Obviously, there’s one more PLE set in late February in the form of Elimination Chamber after which we expect to receive a clearer picture of the card for the Show of Shows.
WrestleMania 39 will be a massive event, this year, especially given that the two-night tradition continues. There would be several big matches set for the show featuring top names of the WWE roster. A recent report only amped up the excitement given that it confirmed the status of John Cena and Ronda Rousey.

Some matches at Wrestlemania are already decided
Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that a few matches for Wrestlemania 39 has been locked in and the list contains both Cena and Rousey. Cena’s opponent should be Austin Theory for the United States Championship culminating in a matchup that’s been rumored for a long time.
As for Rousey, she is likely to be gunning for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships held by Dakota Kai and IYO SKY. Shayna Baszler would be her tag team partner. Additional matches rumored for Wrestlemania 39 include Brock Lesnar vs. Bobby Lashley and Seth Rollins vs. Logan Paul. But those are yet to be confirmed.

Both Cena and Rousey penciled in to compete at Wrestlemania 39
John Cena returned to action in late 2022 during the final SmackDown episode of the year. He competed in a match with Kevin Owens against The Bloodline’s Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn to secure a win. Despite no mention of his Wrestlemania 39 matchup, he is rumored to be competing at the biggest show of 2023.
Cena fueled up the rumors by making a post on Instagram which had Logan Paul holding the WWE Championship. Cena vs. Paul was thereby speculated but WWE is going in a different direction by pitting Paul against Rollins while the 16-time World Champion would be going after Theory.
As for Ronda Rousey, previous reports suggested that she was initially supposed to face Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 39. But plans changed due to her dud run with the SmackDown Women’s Championship. She eventually dropped the title to a returning Charlotte Flair on the December 30th episode of SmackDown and since then hasn’t been seen on WWE TV.
