John Cena still having Wrestlemania discussions with WWE
The announcement of John Cena coming back to action in a tag team match on Smackdown December 30 episode led the fans to wonder whether he would also make an appearance on WrestleMania 39. Dave Meltzer discussed the topic in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter and noted that the upcoming appearance could possibly set up a storyline.
However, the veteran wrestling journalist added that the legend’s Hollywood schedule could offer a conflict in making further appearances on WWE TV leading to Wrestlemania 39,
“Cena will be on the 12/30 Smackdown show in Tampa. If he’s going to do Mania or Rumble, that would in theory be the start of the angle. He won’t be available most of February and March due to movie work.”
Ringside News previously reported that WWE and John Cena were discussing about a possible WrestleMania 39 appearance. Furthermore, Xero News added that the 16-time world champion will also perform at Royal Rumble and that announcement should come during the upcoming appearance on Smackdown.
