ToggleWWE has been nurturing different ideas for the WrestleMania 39 match card given that it’s the biggest night of the year. The best options from the fold are expected to be chosen for the Show of Shows as the company remains just a couple of months away from the event. The current speculation is that the main event plans should be locked in mid-January.

John Cena to appear at Wrestlemania?
It has recently been reported that John Cena will be a part of Wrestlemania 39 despite his movie filming schedule being a barrier to the appearance. Celebrity Logan Paul has been campaigning to compete against him at this event while a report suggested that Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, and even Drew McIntyre have been discussed as possible challengers for the WWE Title.
Fightful Select reports that before Vince McMahon headed into retirement this past summer, it was assumed that Rhodes would be booked in the WWE Title match at WrestleMania 39. Creative sources told the media outlet that this wasn’t fully confirmed, anyway but it was rather an assumption. In addition, it was noted that those ‘Mania plans that Vince came up were simply scrapped.

Fightful also revealed that WWE wants The Rock to work WrestleMania with the hope of him wrestling Reigns in the main event. The original pitch for Cena calls for possible involvement with none other than Cody Rhodes and there’s no confirmation whether that option is still on the table,
“There were pitches within WWE to do Cena vs. Rhodes at WrestleMania, but there’s no word yet on if this is still being discussed under the new regime led by WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H.”
Cody Rhodes returned to WWE at WrestleMania 38 in April of this year just 46 days after departing All Elite Wrestling. The American Nightmare would go on to defeat Seth Rollins at the biggest event of the year, at WrestleMania Backlash, and then at WWE Hell in a Cell to have a clean sweep over The Architect.
Rhodes is expected to be in action at Wrestlemania 39 with the hope that he will be back on TV in time for Royal Rumble 2023 where he could also end up winning the Rumble match itself to cement a championship match at the Show of Shows.
