ToggleRoman Reigns had experiencd the greatest success of the modern generation as a champion. Since his return to WWE a few years ago, he has enjoyed the longest tenure as the reigning world champion. Besides, he also unified the two top world titles of the WWE to enter a league of his own. That being said, he has been enjoying the tag of being the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion for almost 900 days now.
Over the course of more than two years, Roman Reigns has successfully defeated all opponents in his path to maintain his status of being perhaps The Greatest of All-Time. Every good thing has to end, someday and somehow and this reign of glory for the Head of the Table could also be numbered as WWE still has plans to split up the title at WrestleMania 39.

Update on plans around the Undisputed WWE Title
Xero News reported by the end of last year that Roman Reigns won’t be holding two world title belts at Wrestlemania 39 or possibly even before that event. Now while speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about WWE’s upcoming plans for the Undisputed WWE Universal Titles. He noted that there have indeed been some talks of splitting up the titles, especially at the Show of Shows,
“I guess there’s talk of breaking that one up already, this year, maybe at WrestleMania.”

Problems around Roman Reigns’ undisputed WWE Title reign
The WWE Universal Championship was introduced to the WWE Universe on July 25, 2016, and it was primarily exclusive to the Raw brand. After it traveled to the blue brand, Roman Reigns won it in 2020 and then clubbed it with the WWE Championship nearly a year ago by defeating Brock Lesnar in a Winner Takes All Championship Unification bout at Wrestlemania 38.
Since that win, WWE has built Roman Reigns as an unstoppable force where he can be treated as an unbeatable force. With The Usos, Solo Sikoa, and Sami Zayn backing him up, the plans backfired for the WWE as it has struggled to find a way to take the titles away from him and keep one title, each reserved for the Raw and Smackdown brand.
Moving on, The Tribal Chief had also become a part-time performer and the absence of top championships being defended on a regular timespan, especially on the Raw brand is being felt. WWE is likely to resolve that problem either at Wrestlemania or in time of the biggest PLE of the year. However, there’s no confirmation on how the company plans on dethroning Roman Reigns from his solid title reign.
