Heading into Wrestlemania 39, WWE has to take care of a lot of things. This is that time of the year when the best of the storylines from the WWE creative team falls into place to culminate in the biggest matches of a calendar year. One of those featuring two WWE Hall of Famers was reportedly scheduled to go down but it was canceled if reports are to be believed.
Trish Stratus, who is widely regarded as one of the most significant female WWE Superstars in pro-wrestling history was said to be booked for her in-ring return for a match at Wrestlemania 39 which may longer be the case. The pioneer’s return to add more to the evolution of the women’s division in WWE was scrapped due to an injury.

As seen in the February 6 edition of Monday Night Raw, WWE Hall Of Famer Lita made her return, assisting Becky Lynch in defeating Bayley inside the steel cage structure. Previous reports stated that Stratus would return the following week and set up a match at Elimination Chamber against Team Damage CTRL.
However, Stratus didn’t appear on the February 13 episode. According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, was reported that Dakota Kai’s injury prohibited Trish from returning to TV and thereby her return to the ring for a match.
An injury canceled WWE’s Wrestlemania plans
WWE scrapped the plans for her return at Elimination Chamber while at WrestleMania 39, Kai and SKY are booked to defend their tag titles against Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler. Hence, chances aren’t likely that Trish will be seen in a tag match at Wrestlemania 39. The only good thing is that this canceled angle will be revisited, soon,
“Kai & Sky defending the women’s tag titles against Rousey & Baszler is still on for Mania. Whether that means Damage Ctrl would work twice over Mania or something completely different isn’t known at this point, only that there was a planned angle for this past week to bring Stratus back that was canceled and is still expected to be revisited at some point.”
