Roman Reigns has been on a rampage ever since his return to the WWE in the summer of 2020. He won the Universal Championship at Payback of that year and carved the path to becoming the Undisputed Universal Champion at WrestleMania 38. On his way to achieving the first-time accolade, he defeated his biggest rival Brock Lesnar at The Biggest Event of the Year.

Without a doubt, Roman Reigns has proven to be indomitable and perhaps the greatest champion of the modern generation. Given the current reports, the reign of terror created by him isn’t coming to an end, anytime soon. After reaching 2 years as the WWE Universal Champion, it’s hard to find someone who could step up to him as he literally vanquished every single challenger who stood before him.

The speculation is that Roman Reigns will remain as champion until WrestleMania 39 so that the dream match against The Rock over the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion could become a reality. En route to that match, the top superstar’s booking has proved to be complicated for WWE.

As previously reported, WWE plans on keeping Roman Reigns as a multi-year champion with dual belts. But at the same time, they also need to split up the two top world titles of the company which leads them to crossroads.

WWE wants to split top championships from Roman Reigns

WrestleVotes has reported that the WWE is now dealing with a complex situation regarding Roman Reigns’ booking since they want to have two champions heading into WrestleMania 39,

“The situation (with) the world titles & Roman Reigns is ‘complex’ according to a source. They would like to go into ‘Mania season’ & WrestleMania itself with 2 champions, but they also don’t want Reigns losing AT ALL prior. I’m told HHH & co are open to all things creatively here.”

There’s no current plan, as of now to have Roman Reigns drop his titles, this year while his next opponent is also not decided as he continues to work with a limited schedule. He is not expected to wrestle at Extreme Rules and hence it remains to be seen who he will end up facing next, possibly at the Crown Jewel Premium Live Event.

The Tribal Chief has already beaten the likes of Rey Mysterio, Bryan Danielson, Edge, Cesaro, Kevin Owens, and many more. Given after a face-off after Clash at the Castle main event, Boxing Legend Tyson Fury is rumored to be the next opponent of the top champion. But first, he will go up against Logan Paul at Crown Jewel.
