WrestleMania 39 Sunday night didn’t go well for Finn Balor. The Judgment Day Leader was featured in a marquee match and brought out his Demon persona after a long time for his Hell In A Cell match against WWE Hall of Famer Edge at the show. He’s not only lost the match but also suffered a nasty injury that forced the match official to stop the bout for some time.

The injury happened early on in the match at WrestleMania 39 as the eleven-time world champion hit Balor hard with a ladder to bust open his face. He was profusely bleeding from the head and face and the referee had no choice but to declare a time-out so that Balor could be checked out. However, Edge tried to ensure that the people may not realize the severity of the situation.

Despite suffering a bruise in the early part of the WrestleMania 39 match, the former Universal Champion did not only complete the match but also proceeded to deliver a classic against the veteran Edge. Ultimately, the latter prevailed with a series of chair shots, followed by his pendant Con-Chair-To for the pin to win.

During the post WrestleMania 39 media event, Triple H was asked about the injury of Finn Balor and he mentioned that they needed time to realize what happened due to the Demon’s face paint. However, the top WWE Raw Superstar is said to be okay and it isn’t a major injury like Shane McMahon’s as noted by Triple H.

“He’s great. I just spoke to him right before I came down here. Sometimes metal appliances that aren’t designed to be thrown at you are unforgiving. [We] try to be safe as possible but things happen and he received a few staples in the ring. Bleeding stopped, went along with the match, and was able to put on a classic.” (quotes courtesy SeScoops)
