As the countdown to WrestleMania 40 comes to a halt, this weekend, the anticipation keeps on getting bigger among the fans. WWE is pulling out all the stops to ensure that this edition of the Show of Shows lives up to its legacy and the efforts have been noticed from the new owner TKO’s part. That being said, several legendary appearances are being discussed for the grandest stage.
Reports have already indicated that WrestleMania 40 will have some heavy names in attendance without prior announcement and those include the likes of Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Undertaker, and John Cena. During Raw, production trucks and equipment were shown with Mania wraps featuring images of Austin, Cena, Charlotte Flair, Jey Uso, World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, United States Champion Logan Paul, and more.

In an update to the reports, Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that regarding Austin and Cena’s faces being shown on the trucks during Raw, he was “told not to read into that regarding the main events.” A mystery slot was also indicated to be in store for WrestleMania 40.
“Time will tell, but we were told not to read into that regarding the main events. There is said to be a mystery slot, but whether that mystery is Cena or somebody else is not known.”
Ringside News further gave some clarification on the mystery slot at WrestleMania 40 and they were denied. It was also clarified that neither Steve Austin nor John Cena will be competing at the Showcase of The Immortals. Rather, the fans can only expect to see them in a surprising capacity if they do appear, at all.
Wrestlemania 40: WWE Trying To Secure Two Legendary Names For PLE
While John Cena has admittedly been waiting to get the call from the WWE to appear at Wrestlemania 40, reports also affirm that Austin was already contacted regarding an appearance. But there’s no update if he agreed to the deal offered to him.
