Wrestlemania 40 will be the biggest premium live event waiting on WWE’s part, next year from the city of Brotherly Love. Without a doubt, all the top billings from both Raw and Smackdown rosters will be there on the show and that spree of names might also include Drew McIntyre whose immediate status with the company seems uncertain.

In the latest update on the top WWE Raw Superstar, PWInsider noted that WWE isn’t in a huge hurry to sign him to a new contract. They have more time to do it after adding time to his deal. That being said, it’s safe to assume that McIntyre isn’t going anywhere from the WWE until Wrestlemania 40 arrives.

WWE added time to Drew McIntyre’s contract to take him through Wrestlemania 40

“We were also told that the company had not rushed to lock McIntyre into a new deal as they had time to work on it, with one source noting that with McIntyre having taken time off earlier this year, there was additional time added to his contract,” the source revealed in their report.

“PWInsiderElite.com is told that the company has McIntyre now locked in until around WrestleMania 40, so that now gives the two sides in the area of seven months to finalize a new deal.”

McIntyre needed to take time off after WrestleMania 39 following a triple-threat match and the company has now tacked those months onto his deal, extending it to Wrestlemania 40. So, for the time being, McIntyre should continue to prominently feature on WWE TV angles in the coming months.

WWE yet to make official announcements about Wrestlemania 40 matches

WWE WrestleMania 40 will take place on April 6, and April 7 at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania which marks the fifth two-night event in a row starting from 2020. This will be the second WrestleMania hosted in the City of Brotherly Love following WrestleMania 15 in 1999.

While no matches or superstars have been officially announced for Wrestlemania 40, a previous report from WrestleVotes via GiveMeSport hinted that the highly-anticipated rematch between Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns could be the headliner. Recently, Rhea Ripley also teased a showdown against Becky Lynch at the biggest event of them all.
