Another match for the upcoming WrestleMania Backlash 2022 Premium Live Event has been made official by the WWE. Last night on WWE Raw, it was announced that a big WrestleMania 38 rematch will go down at the show where Cody Rhodes will battle Seth Rollins in another singles encounter.

Thus, Wrestlemania Backlash 2022 will produce a rematch from Rhodes’ return to WWE at WrestleMania 38, which saw him defeat Rollins in singles action. After tons of rumors, Rhodes made a surprise return to WWE at the Show of Shows to pick up a clean pinfall win over the Monday Night Messiah in a critically acclaimed contest.

This week’s episode of WWE Raw opened up with Rhodes appearing on Miz TV with The Miz. After this segment, a scheduled singles match between the two superstars went down as the opening contest of the weekly episode. Seth Rollins was in attendance at ringside of the match from ringside.

The American Nightmare used a Cody Cutter followed a Cross Rhodes to get the pinfall win on The A-Lister to keep his winning streak ongoing since his return. Once the match was over, Rollins confronted Rhodes in the ring and challenged him to part two, the rematch. WWE later confirmed the match for WrestleMania Backlash 2022 by announcing it on social media as well as on the official website of the company.

This happened after RAW went off the air. WWE is also billing the match as Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins II which is the second confirmed match for the upcoming WWE Network Specials.

While nothing much has been confirmed WWE Wrestlemania Backlash 2022, it’s expected that Bianca Belair vs. Sonya Deville for Raw Women’s Title will be announced while Team RK-Bro vs. The Usos in a tag team title unification match will also go down.
