Ronda Rousey vs. SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair in a rematch for the title will take place at WrestleMania Backlash 2022 Premium Live Event. Obviously, the title will be on the line in the return match from Wrestlemania 38 where the champion successfully defended against the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble winner.

As reported earlier, the post-WrestleMania 38 edition of SmackDown on FOX saw Ronda Rousey addressing her loss to Charlotte Flair at the Show of Show. Despite making Flair tap out in that match, Rosuey was unable to pick up the title since the referee was incapacitated during her move. Rousey proceeded to challenge Flair to a rematch WrestleMania Backlash 2022 but this time in an “I Quit” match.

Charlotte Flair checked in from backstage on the tron only to deny Rousey’s challenge. Rousey later confronted WWE Official Adam Pearce and stated that the match was in the works which would likely be made official by Saturday. The speculation was that WWE may announce Rousey vs. Flair in an “I Quit” match during Saturday’s Talking Smack episode.

No other matches have been announced for WrestleMania Backlash 2022 as of this writing, but some more top superstars are being advertised to appear such as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, Becky Lynch, and WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Sasha Banks.

There was another segment on this past edition of Smackdown that teased a potential match at WrestleMania Backlash 2022 — Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns vs. Shinsuke Nakamura. Reigns taunted Nakamura over how his tag team partner Rick Boogs suffered an injury at WrestleMania. Suddenly, The Usos stepped in and dropped Nakamura with a double superkick.
