Prior to tonight’s Smackdown Live, the main event match was confirmed. A six-woman tag team match was announced in which three prime babyfaces of the women’s division took on against three bonafide heels of the blue brand.

The lineup was Charlotte Flair, Asuka and Becky Lynch against the current Smackdown women’s champion, Carmella and the IIconics i.e. Peyton Royce and Billie Kay.

Ever since Wrestlemania season was gone, these three later mentioned villains dominated the show. Charlotte Flair left the Mercedes-Benz Superdome as the champion after conquering the streak of Asuka.

While everyone thought that the Queen will run her Queendom for a long time, Carmella ruined everything with the Money in the Bank briefcase.

To help her, the IIconics arrived on Smackdown as part of the Superstar Shakeup. They targeted the genetically superior athlete ever since debuting on the show to make names for themselves.

Becky Lynch tried to provide the backup but she failed since the number games caught up.

So, Asuka was included in the mix to level the equation. However, even on last week’s show, the team of Asuka and Becky suffered the loss.

The IIconics continued to brag about this win over Asuka and claimed to be even better than the Empress of Tomorrow.

Before the huge six-woman tag match, Carmella and the duo cut a promo about the same.

The reigning champion was seen delighted to join them in the match.

Charlotte went right after the princess of Staten Island who decided to keep herself away from the contest by tagging to Peyton Royce.

But, in the middle of the match, Charlotte did seek redemption by taking all three of her opponents by herself. She cut Mella into halves with a huge spear and delivered a spectacular moonsault off the top rope that only she can deliver.

Once, Mella and Kay were down, Asuka did the rest inside the ring. She locked in her pendant, Asuka lock to make Peyton Royce tap out on Smackdown.

In addition, it was sweet retribution for the former NXT Women’s champion. This was her first win in nearly one month after the devastating loss to Charlotte at Wrestlemania.

Moreover, the Queen too got some momentums heading into the Backlash title match.
