Nia Jax and Alexa Bliss was a well-built rivalry for Wrestlemania 34 that continued at Backlash PPV, too.

These two were the real-life best friends which is why the audience took this feud, seriously. Public always loves to see a friend turning on each other in WWE programming.

So, Nia Jax was converted into a babyface, quite organically by virtue of Alexa’s betrayal.

But, Nia has not been able to stand as the strong champion as Bliss had over the last couple of years. Hence, at Backlash, the Goddess of the WWE was the favourite to win back the WWE Raw women’s title from the Samoan Superstar.

The in-ring chemistry between these two fell short, this time around. Bliss was quick to attack Jax while starting the match. It was a good move considering she wanted to put the behemoth off her feet from the early-go. But, the punishing offences kept the crowd quiet, for most of the time.

There was one single spot in the Backlash match where Bliss hit the DDT on steel steps on Jax. But, she failed to pick her heavy body inside the ring and was unable to get the win. Aftermath, Nia recuperated and hit the Samoan Drop to retain her championship.

In the Smackdown women’s title scenario, Carmella dethroned Charlotte Flair following Wrestlemania. After waiting for more than 280 days, she successfully cashed in the Money in the Bank briefcase. The segment was cheered to a big extent. But, going forward, she could not retain the momentum.

Carmella managed to get the least reactions from the audience which might have been a headache for the officials. Hence, Charlotte was an automatic favourite to win this contest against an opponent who is a no matchup in comparison to her calibre.

The current champion played mind games for the most part of this match. But, Flair gave back answers with her signature chops on the chest. The heel also suffered a brutal spear from the contender. But, she came back locking in the Code of Silence of her own.

Getting over from it, Charlotte missed the moonsault. While selling the injury, Carmella rolled her up to retain the title at Backlash.
