WWE Backlash 2023 has been confirmed to be the first premium live event after WrestleMania 39. Unlike in the past years, some of the major names are being advertised to make an appearance on this show having an international feel attached to it,

– Roman Reigns
– Cody Rhodes
– Edge
– The Usos
– Street Profits
– Becky Lynch
– Gunther
– Seth Rollins
– Drew McIntyre
– Sheamus
– Bianca Belair
– Charlotte Flair
– Judgment Day

With Roman Reigns performing at WWE Backlash 2023, it’s probably safe to say that he’s not heading into any kind of hiatus following Wrestlemania 39. Plus, with the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion onboard, main events plans will obviously revolve around him. At this point, WWE is considering two separate matches with or without a championship involved in it.

WWE Backlash 2023: Current Main Event Plans Featuring Roman Reigns 1

According to Xero News, one of the following two matches is being considered the main event of WWE Backlash 2023,

– Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship or just the WWE Championship
– The Bloodline (Roman Reigns & The Usos) vs. Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn

The championship scenario in the WWE could change following Wrestlemania 39 if Cody Rhodes can win the undisputed championship. With a WWE Draft possibly being scheduled around WWE Backlash 2023, the top world titles could be split, creating more opportunities for the WWE Superstars.

WWE Backlash 2023 PLE is scheduled to take place in Puerto Rico on Saturday, May 6 and celebrity rapper Bad Bunny will host this event. This will be the 1st WWE PPV/PLE in Puerto Rico since January 2005’s New Year’s Revolution.
