WWE Backlash 2023 is going to be the next pay-per-view event on the calendar and this one will be an international event. In fact, the next three PPVs scheduled on the WWE calendar will be taken outside the USA territory which is an amazing achievement from WWE’s perspective.
Trimming down the Wrestlemania tag, WWE Backlash 2023 will emanate from Puerto Rico as San Juan will get their first show of almost 15 years on May 6th. It’s sad for the Puerto Rico fanbase that they will not get to see the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, live in action. But that they won’t ultimately be deprived of seeing a lot of actions on the show.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter recently made their predictions on the card of the WWE Backlash 2023 which is yet to be announced. While the whole card wasn’t discussed, some of the top matches set for the show were revealed.
In the absence of Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar vs. Cody Rhodes will obviously serve as the main event of the WWE PLE. There will be a tag team match featuring Bad Bunny on the card since he’s the hometown hero and the host of WWE Backlash 2023. Besides, the Raw Women’s Title match has also been revealed for the night,
“For Backlash, nothing is official although Lesnar vs. Rhodes is the main event and it also looks like Bad Bunny & Rey Mysterio vs. Priest & Dominik Mysterio, Owens & Zayn & Riddle vs. Usos & Sikoa. Belair will defend the Raw women’s title soon against Sky, but that also could be on television and not on the PPV.”

In another major spoiler, rumors are going around that Rhea Ripley will put her Smackdown Women’s Title on the lie at WWE Backlash 2023 against Zelina Vega, the native member of Puerto Rico which should also fulfill the latter’s long-time pledge to perform in a title match in her home country.
Trish Stratus vs. Becky Lynch was also likely to happen at WWE Backlash 2023. The match was initially planned for SummerSlam 2023 and they shot the angle on the RAW after WrestleMania with Trish turning on Lynch. But chances are high that the dream match will eventually be preponed for the first post-Wrestlemania 39 PLE in Puerto Rico.
