WWE Backlash 2023 was the last premium live event from the biggest professional wrestling promotion in the world, last night. It aired, live from Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot in San Juan, Puerto Rico which was the first-time-ever instance in the Backlash event’s 18-year history that it was hosted outside the USA territory.

Given that WWE Backlash 2023 had an international feel attached to it, the expectation was that the top-most attraction of the WWE, Roman Reigns would be present on the card but that wasn’t the case. However, given his stardom, the crowd in Puerto Rico couldn’t help but demand the presence of their Tribal Chief on the show.

The heel faction also picked up the win over the babyface team in an absolutely chaotic affair. It was during this match that the crowd let their demand be heard.

During this tag match at WWE Backlash 2023, the crowd broke into, “We want Roman” chants. The Head of the Table wasn’t obviously present on the PLE and neither he was there at the backstage area. But he will be returning on next Friday’s episode of WWE SmackDown.
