The Head of the Table status persists for Roman Reigns as we head into WWE Backlash 2023, the next premium live event on the calendar. In the main event of WrestleMania 39, Reigns defeated Cody Rhodes to retain the Undisputed WWE Universal Title and now he will move into getting a new opponent in due course since Rhodes could be involved in a new storyline against Brock Lesnar.
The top titleholder in the WWE isn’t likely to wrestle at the next pay-per-view, WWE Backlash 2023, going by recent reports. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter dropped an update on the status of Reigns in their latest report and it was noted that he will not be in attendance at the international PLE. But he is expected to wrestle again over the next few months,
“Reigns will not be on the San Juan card, or at least that wasn’t the plan on Monday, but he will be doing other major events over the next few months.”

Reigns could wrestle on the post-WWE Backlash 2023 PLE
While nothing is confirmed, Roman Reigns may have to go through his next title defense when WWE will be heading to Saudi Arabia for King and Queen of the Ring in May. The last time WWE held a show in Saudi, Reigns defended his title successfully against Logan Paul. The next time around at the PLE, Reigns is also expected to throw a celebration on the occasion of the 1000th day of his title reign.
The next Saudi Arabia event is scheduled for May 27th while WWE Backlash 2023 will take place on May 6th. The show is slated to emanate from Puerto Rico in San Juan. This will be WWE’s long-awaited trip to the island under the USA territory after almost 18 long years. The bad news for the fans is that WWE’s Tribal Chief won’t be making the trip.
