In what appeared to be an absolute treat at WWE Backlash 2023 for the Puerto Rico fans, the former Puerto Rican WWE star Savio Vega made a couple of surprise appearances at the latest bygone Premium Live Event. If that wasn’t it then, then one of the veteran performers from WWE’s Ruthless Aggression Era and a popular wrestler from Puerto Rico, Carlito was also back on WWE programming.
In the opening match of WWE Backlash 2023, Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair (c) defeated IYO SKY to retain her title after which Savio Vega After appeared in a backstage segment with WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio who was prepping up Bad Bunny for his scheduled match. Vega gave Bunny a Puerto Rico-styled Kendo Stick for his Street Fight against Damian Priest.

WWE Backlash 2023: Carlitto returns to a big pop from Puerto Rico audience
When the match was in progress at WWE Backlash 2023, later the night under No-DQ rules, Bunny neutralized the mean antics of Priest by low-blowing him. Soon, Judgment Day members Finn Balor and Dominik Mysterio ran out and attacked Bunny utilizing the No-DQ environment. This also led Rey Mysterio to come out to make the save but the numbers game really caught up with him.
At this point, former Intercontinental Champion Carlito and Puerto Rico’s own, Carlito made his return to the WWE to a HUGE POP from the audience present at WWE Backlash 2023. Carlito and Rey acted as a cohesive unit to take out Balor & Dominik. Carlito also spat Apple in Dominik’s face which was signature on WWE programming.

After this, Finn and Dominik retreated from the scene, but then Savio Vega came out with Santos Escobar and the other LWO members backing him up. Vega hit his signature moves on Finn and Dominik, again to a huge pop from the crowd.
The Street Fight also progressed at WWE Backlash 2023 where Bunny applied the Figure Four Leg Lock on Priest, but Priest somehow got himself out of it. Bunny then attacked Priest with a Steel Chair. Priest was sent face-first into a Steel Chair after which Bunny hit the Canadian Destroyer on Priest for the pin to win.
Prior to picking up the win, Bunny went for a turnbuckle move, but he landed on his head which could have injured him. Following WWE Backlash 2023, the part-time WWE Superstar will be kept on a hiatus, anyway, which should give him time to recuperate for another return for bigger WWE PPV events.
