Vince McMahon is perhaps the most colorful persona to have featured in the world of professional wrestling. He single-handedly changed the perspective toward the sports-entertainment while also playing an on-screen role on TV under the name of Mr. McMahon. While he’s mostly been an incredible villain on TV, the switch between characters, whenever needed, was also incredible.

Back in the days, Vince McMahon was touted to receive a full-length feature film with the name being Pandemonium. Even the likes of John Cena was also rumored to play the lead of that film. That project has been shelved while it was announced back in last October that WWE had signed a “groundbreaking new deal” with Netflix for a documentary on WWE Chairman and CEO’s life.

Nick Khan, WWE’s President, and Chief Revenue Officer noted during the Q3 2020 earnings call that the company had signed a “groundbreaking deal” with Netflix. WWE will be selling the multi-part documentary that will cover Vince McMahon’s life, through this deal. This was something is groundbreaking because it is one of the highest-budgeted documentaries in Netflix history, according to Khan.

Nick Khan praised Vince McMahon’s documentary

One year later, during the Q3 call of 2021, Khan provided an update on the documentary and showered it with tons of praise,

“We have seen early cuts of our upcoming Vince McMahon multipart Netflix documentary, which is executive produced by WWE and Bill Simmons, who did the acclaimed Andre the Giant documentary with us,” Khan said. “The Vince cuts are out of this world, amazing. Wait until you see it.”

The documentary will be split into four episodes while there’s no word yet on a possible release date.

As noted, This Vince McMahon documentary is not the same biopic that was first revealed back in 2017. That project titled “Pandemonium,” was initially expected to star Bradley Cooper as the WWE head-honcho. Scripted by Craig A the movie was targeted to release in 2018. Williams Tristar Pictures was to release the movie but all of those plans have been fully scrapped.

As per Nick Khan’s information, Bill Simmons will be the executive producer of this upcoming Netflix documentary project, while Chris Smith, who directed Netflix’s Fyre Fest documentary, will produce this one along with WWE Studios.
