At the WWE Clash of Champions PPV event, Dolph Ziggler won the United States Championship that was much needed for him. With this title by the side, his drowning career was supposed to be saved to a big extent. But, he shocked the world by deciding to vacate the title, only after two nights after the incident.
It was supposed to be a storyline which was also not true as he returned to work a one-off night at the Royal Rumble PPV and got eliminated in quick time.
Later, Ziggler was advertised to come back on Smackdown by featuring in a singles matchup against Baron Corbin.
This later converted into a contender’s match for the WWE Championship which he eventually won to get inserted into the title picture.
Now, he will get the opportunity to compete at the title match that will take place at Fastlane PPV. It is a fatal-5-way match that will also feature AJ Styles, Kevin Owens, Baron Corbin and Sami Zayn.
Now, it’s definitely good to see a superstar like his caliber getting a much-deserved opportunity to the prime title present in the WWE.
It was a rare thing for him in the past. Hopefully, he can continue in this scenario now that he signed a new contract with the company.
As reported by the Independent wrestler & wrestling podcast personality Bin “The Hacker” Hamin, Dolph Ziggler has extended his deal with the WWE.
On the latest edition of The Locker Room Podcast, the source revealed that this new deal will last for 2 years more which means he will stay under WWE banner for a couple of years more.
Check out updates regarding this deal from SportsKeeda.com,
”Dolph was pretty much 2 feet out the door before being offered a new 2-year contract, that is apparently worth crazy big money. Dolph has also received a clause in the contract that is very important to him, which is being allowed to take in outside of WWE projects, that won’t conflict with his new schedule.”
It is interesting to note that the company will allow him to work on outside projects other than wrestling. The show-off is a well-known standup comedian and also a movie star which means he can pursue more of that in the near future.
After spending over a decade in the company, the veteran deserves this and it’s good to know that the officials are allowing him to do so.
