WWE Draft 2023 continued following this week’s May 1 episode of Raw from the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas just like last week’s Smackdown. However, after the end of WWE SmackDown, fans had to wait for over twelve hours before the next round of draft announcements on Smackdown LowDown. In contrast, the rest of last night’s picks were quickly announced on Raw Talk.
Superstars selected for the Raw brand in the supplemental WWE Draft 2023 during Raw Talk included the names of Dana Brooke, Nikki Cross, Johnny Gargano, Los Lotharios – Angel Garza & Humberto Carrilo, Akira Tozawa, Piper Niven, Xia Li, Tegan Nox, Emma, and Riddick Moss. Also, Raw picked Odyssey Jones from WWE NXT as well as a returning Jinder Mahal alongside his Indus Sher buddies Sanga and Veer Mahaan.
WWE Draft 2023: Brock Lesnar Labeled As A Free Agent After Shakeup
From the Smackdown side, only two new picks on were declared during the supplemental WWE Draft 2023 on Raw Talk — Tamina and a recruit from NXT, Grayson Waller. Hence, the remaining names from the Draft pool all fell into the free agency category of superstars who can appear across both brands for the time being.

Those free agent superstars’ list now includes Baron Corbin, Cedric Alexander, Shelton Benjamin, Elias, Omos, Mustafa Ali, and Xyon Quinn. The free agency label also applies to the top-most superstar Brock Lesnar. As announced on Raw, Triple declared the same notion for The Beast as he renegotiated his contract with the WWE to appear on both Raw and Smackdown brands after Backlash 2023, this weekend.
One of the biggest NXT imports from this supplemental WWE Draft 2023 was the pick of Grayson Waller to the main roster as he was capturing the main event scene of NXT for the past several months. Last week, Waller challenged NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes on the WWE NXT Spring Breakin’ episode but came up short. Waller’s bitter rival Johnny Gargano, his opponent from the Stand & Deliver premium live event was expectedly placed on the red brand.
Speaking of the WWE Draft 2023, during the main show of Raw, the reigning SmackDown Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley drafted to Raw was the overall first pick of the night. The move was expected after Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair was drafted to SmackDown last Friday night. The top women’s title-holders in the WWE are expected to swap their titles, moving forward.
