Bray Wyatt was released from his WWE contract, almost 48 hours ago in an act that literally sent a shockwave through the backstage of the company. Numerous talents, staff, and backstage employees think there’s more to this release than just a simple budget cut and now they’re afraid of their own job, according to a new report from Fightful.
The news of this latest exit came after Bray Wyatt received a call from Senior Executive of Talent Relations, John Laurinaitis about being the latest WWE star who was let go from the contract. Now the latest report suggests that nearly 20 individuals reached out about his release, and many of them were seemingly very frustrated about the situation.

Bray Wyatt did extremely well when it came to the merchandise realm and popularity among the fans. He was also one of the top stars of the Monday Night RAW roster. Hence, some veteran stars said they “don’t feel like their jobs are safe any longer,” no matter where they are on the card or prior accolades or championships they’ve gained with the company.
Bray Wyatt was cleared to be back in action
On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, it was also mentioned that Bray Wyatt had just been medically cleared for his in-ring return and he was likely to be returning in a storyline, later this month. That was much needed given Raw’s current position where star power is much needed to carry the show forward.
Numerous people from the wrestling world have reacted to Bray Wyatt’s release on social media, including Braun Strowman, Alexa Bliss, and Sasha Banks as well as the fans who thought that WWE was unable to properly utilize the creative genius in the former Eater of the World. Even Wyatt himself reacted in emoji form to a fan observation on his final WWE appearance.
PWInsider also noted that this decision of releasing Bray Wyatt likely came from WWE President Nick Khan and CFO Kristina Salen due to their obsession with keeping WWE out of financial dangers during this COVID-19 pandemic. The WWE Q2 financials came out last week, and apparently, there was a push for more cost-cuttings. Wyatt was said to have shared “very hot and cold” relationship, too.
