The concept of becoming a WWE Grand Slam Champions has changed over the year with the innovations of newer titles. But the company has tried to keep the basic concept the same where a superstar has to win a world title, two mid-card titles, and a tag team title, for once to enter the elite league of champions. The list has updated a bit following this past weekend’s WWE Wrestlemania 37 PPV event from the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay, Florida.
Per the official website, to become a WWE Grand Slam Champion, a superstar has to be, “Intercontinental Champion, United States Champion, any permutation of the Tag Team Championship – Raw/Smackdown Tag Team Titles and either active heavyweight title — as in, WWE Championship or, now, the WWE Universal Championship.”

As you can see, AJ Styles is the latest entry to the list who become the overall 15th WWE Grand Slam Champion at Wrestlemania 37. Styles and Omos defeated The New Day members Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods to capture the WWE RAW Tag Team Championship on Night One of WrestleMania 37. With that win, The Phenomenal One captured the rare accolade on the WWE roster.
Will WWE Superstar Shakeup Be Back After Wrestlemania 37?
After the show went off the air, Styles and Omos spoke to Sarah Schreiber in a backstage interview who reminded Styles of the career accomplishment in WWE. The former WWE Champion said, “Oh yes, this does make me a Grand Slam Champion. It’s time to go celebrate.”
Styles continued to praise Omos, his tag team partner who also earned the pinfall win during the match on the team’s behalf,
“I’ve got to give it to New Day, they almost kept me from tagging in this monster right here, my own personal colossus, Omos,” said Styles, while looking at Omos. “It didn’t work, it didn’t happen, and when I did make the tag, this man – a man of men – showed what he was all about. I said he would destroy New Day and he did exactly that.”
As the newest WWE Grand Slam Champion is likely to continue his celebration heading into this week’s Raw, we should remind you that there’re more such winners under the old format. It stated that to achieve the Grand Slam you had to win either the WWE or World Heavyweight Title; WWE or World Tag Team Title; The Intercontinental Title and either the European or Hardcore Title.
